What does Spela mean?
Spela means to play in Swedish. The idea behind the brand name is that cosmetics are a form of play for us - a creative outlet that is part of our day to day lives. The Swedish roots also tie to the fact that our products are always EU compliant, holding ourselves to a higher scientific based standard for our ingredients and formulations.
I'm not sure what to buy. Can I get some advice on which products are best for me?
All of our products are designed to work with a wide range of skin tones. Depending on your mood and lifestyle some shades may be better for certain occasions. Do you products contain harmful chemicals? Can I get an ingredient list?
Our formulas are always non-toxic, and follow the standards of the European Union for cosmetics (they have banned over 1300 ingredients in cosmetics, while in the US there are only 11 ingredients that have been banned in cosmetics!!). Are you products Gluten free? Soy free? Wheat free? Nut free?
All Spela products are Gluten Free, Wheat Free, Nut Free, and GMO Free. Our Nail colors are Soy Free, but our Liquid Lipsticks use Vitamin E (Tocopherol) that is derived from Non-GMO Soy.

Where are your products manufactured?
All of our products are manufactured in the USA. This gives us the ability to make sure we can guarantee our quality and ingredients, make sure all of the people involved in the creation of our products have safe working conditions and are paid a fair wage, and that our environmental standards are maintained. It’s also way better for our economy!
I’m nervous about buying beauty online. Can I try the products before I buy?

What is the shelf life of you products?
Like most cosmetics, the "shelf life" of our lipstick doesn't start until it is actually opened. Once opened, the suggested shelf life is 12 months.
